Borderlands 3 Patch Fixes Negative Guardian Tokens, But Not Much Else

Gearbox Software released quite an underwhelming patch yesterday for Borderlands 3. I’m thankful I no longer have to go offline to obtain my Guardian tokens. However, while negative Guardian tokens and sound issues have certainly needed fixing, there are still plenty of other issues I feel Gearbox avoided addressing with this patch.

Many players, including myself, have complained about menu lag, which seems like it should be a pretty easy fix. I’m no game developer though. This is especially annoying coupled with the fact that Mayhem modifiers don’t immediately show up when I pull up the game’s map. I have to navigate to another page and back to the map for them to appear.

Other issues that need to be addressed are buffs where buffs are needed. For instance, I primarily play as FL4K, the Beastmaster, and my pet dies more than anything else in the game. Not to mention, when he’s supposed to revive me, he often just sits there and stares at me.

Other buffs include Moze’s Iron Bear. I have a friend who plays as Moze and he says he primarily uses the Iron Bear as an escape from certain death. I’m sure the developers meant for it to be more than that. Hopefully.

I won’t get into the loot controversy with this post. It seems like a dead horse at this point. But there is probably some work that could be done there too.

As Gearbox continues to work on the game we’ve all fallen in love with, I think it’s important that they communicate with their audience on their progress. Many players feel they are left in the dark and their requests aren’t being listened to.

Hopefully I won’t get burnt out on Borderlands 3 before it gets cleaned up. Still, I’m going to keep playing it, enjoying every minute.
